Weihnachten (Christmas) 2018: Inzell /Passau

Weihnachten 2018:

Dieses Jahr sind wir über Weihnachten in die Berge gefahren. In der Hoffnung auf weiße Weihnachten natürlich! Und ja, als wir in Inzell ankamen, lag bereits etwas Schnee – Hurra!
This year, we spent the Christmas holidays in the mountains (Alps). We hoped for having a White Christmas, of course. And great, when we arrived at the town of Inzell, there was some snow already!

Aber erst einmal mussten wir dorthin – und das war eine lange Fahrt! Es war schrecklich viel Verkehr und wir hatten Unmengen von Staus. Wir wollten in Passau übernachten und dort zum Weihnachtsmarkt gehen, aber, oh weh, es war bereits so spät, dass wir nur noch zum Essen gehen konnten.
But first, we had to go there. And that was hard! Lots of people on the road, lots of traffic jams. We planned to spend the night in Passau and visit the Christmas Market there, but we were too late. Thus, we only had some food and drink.

Inzell:
Inzell ist eine niedliche kleine Stadt, bekannt durch das Eisschnelllaufen! Die berühmte Eishalle habe ich mir auch angesehen.
Pünktlich zu Weihnachten fiel dann auch noch wieder Schnee. Es war kalt (besonders an meinen Füssen) aber
Inzell is a tiny little town. It is famous for Ice Skating, I visited the great skating arena, too.
Just in time for Christmas, it started snowing again! It was cold, but nice (if you spot out the best places, of course!)

Dann haben wir einen schönen Ausflug nach Berchtesgaden und den Königsee gemacht, bei herrlichem Sonnenschein.
Unterwegs konnten wir die Alpen und eine fantastische Schneelandschaft bewundern.
We went on a trip to the city of Berchtesgaden and the lake Königsee. On the way, we enjoyed a fantastic winter landscape and the awesome mountain view.

Königsee:
Der Königsee und die Wallfahrtskapelle St. Bartholomä sind eine der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Deutschland! Die Kapelle ist nur mit dem Schiff (Elektroboot) bequem erreichbar, ansonsten gibt es wohl ein paar lange und teils hochalpine Fußwege zugänglich. Wir haben das Boot genommen 😊…
The lake Königsee and the chapel St. Bartholomä are one of the most famous tourist attractions in Germany. The chapel is reachable only by boat (electronic) and some high-alpine footpaths. We preferred to take the boat 😊…

Ich bin ein Bayrischer Löwe (I’am a Bavarian Lion):
Und da war noch etwas mit einem bayrischen Löwen. So habe ich mich dort jedenfalls gefühlt! Ich bin mir aber nicht mehr so sicher, wie das Ganze ausgegangen ist.
And then, there was a story about a bavarian lion. At least, that was how I felt those days. I’m not quite sure, how that story ended, though…
